Man of the Match: Dani Vangel
Now back to his best, Dani's typically cool, unflustered defending enabled Celts to emerge unscathed from the sticky spell in the 2nd half, effectively snuffing out the Heath Park challenge. |
Notes: |
Celts got the win they expected at Heath Park today, scoring 7 goals against the League's bottom team.
With barely 2 minutes on the clock, Ben Roach's headed goal from JC's pinpoint corner settled the nerves. The rest of the half was scrappy, as Celts struggled to impose themselves, but Jake Cowan smacked in Celts 2nd goal just before the interval.
Liam Beckett and Rhys Hawkins looked lively when they came on at half-time and Celts quickly added a third when George Govier slotted home.
HPR spirits were lifted when they were gifted a goal and for the next 10 minutes they penned Celts back as they pressed for a second, but it was
Celts who struck again as George Govier doubled his tally.
That goal deflated HPR and Celts went further ahead when Steffan Evans burst into the box to finish superbly at the far post. Heath Park couldn't cope with Will Gray's energy as he added a 6th, and Liam Beckett topped a fine performance to make it 7-1.
