Notes: |
At last! Celts produced a display of football to be proud of. Everything came together against Rumney at the University Playing fields. Celts took the lead against the run of play after 10 minutes with a sublime one-touch move involving four players, that was finished off with a 20 yard volley by George Govier. A far-post header by Jake Cowan and 2 opportunist strikes by Barni Gubb put Celts 4 nil up at the break.
After the restart, Celts extended their lead when Barni Gubb was upended in the box. Jake Cowan slotted home the penalty. Although they didn't score any more goals, the greens dominated the second-half, with Man of the Match Connor Shorey pulling the strings. Celts rode their luck a little in the first half, but they fully deserved their first clean-sheet of the season in this emphatic win.
