Because we do not have any facilities of our own the club membership breaks up from September until we all meet again in April next year. Hopefully it won't be too long before we have our own pavilion which will provide a meeting place during the winter months to give our members the comradeship that they enjoy during the season. Oh how the other half live!!!!
Well everyone, the greenkeeping gang have been very busy during September. When we closed the green on 10th September the greenkeeping gang swung into action scarifying the green in two directions. Levelling work was done on all the known low places after solid tining the green. The green was then overseeded and top dressed using 110 25kg bags of top dressing. It has also had a spraying of worm controller and will be getting a final fertiliser next week.
Outside the green the contractors have been busy erecting the steel palisade fencing around the green and the building and this work will be finished next week. This work will ensure a safer environment for our club members and hopefully stop the spates of vandalism the hall and green have suffered in previous years.
