Linslade Bowls Club will open their season on Saturday next with their annual St John’s Cup battle between teams selected by the President, Peter Lee and the Captain, Eric Bierton. The club, based at the Mentmore Road Playing Fields, hope that an investment in new equipment will lead to an improved playing surface under the care of greenkeeper Eddie Coleman and his team of volunteers. Anyone interested in playing the game will be welcome at the club which will now be open most afternoons and evenings until the end of September.
