Welcome to Middleton Cheney Cricket Club 1st XI Web page.

We welcome all players to the club....young & old.

The club has been changed around this year, and the first team have now become the second team.
This is due to both teams now playing in the South Northants League.
We have a lot of 16 & 17 year olds struggling to get games once they leave the under 15s so hopefully this will now be rectified.

We continue to run an under 15s & under 13s team.

    Middleton Cheney vs Helmdon

A very wet & cold day & all spectators had disappeared long before teatime, expecting the game to be called off.
Middleton Cheney started well as Helmdon batted first & young Josh Nadin had taken 2 wickets in the first 2 overs.
    Helmdon finished 145 for 8.
After a slow start Middleton looked as though they were going to get the runs. A lovely 57 not out from Andy Mayo, a very exciting last over when Dale Cowling was run out on the last ball and the match was lost by 1 run.

    Jersey Tour

    MIDDLETON CHENEY CRICKET CLUB

    JERSEY TOUR (19 – 22 SEPT 2008)

As discussed at the club AGM we are planning on having an end of season tour to Jersey. I have now managed to put some arrangements in place.

    Tour details:

The plan is to fly out on Friday 19th September, returning on Monday 22nd September. Where we fly from will depend on who is the cheapest at the time of booking but it will be one of the local airports.

We will definitely have games on Saturday & Sunday afternoon and possibly a 20/20 game on the Friday afternoon but this is to be confirmed at a later date. We are hoping to have enough players on tour to rest those who don’t want to play in all of the games!!! The rest of the time is your own to sample the delights of Jersey & drink as much alcohol as you can.

Our accommodation will be the Mountview hotel and will be on a B&B basis. The hotel is a 5 - 10 minute walk from the main Jersey nightlife, shopping centre & attractions. Each room in en suite and there is a small bar area in the hotel.

    Cost:

I have been looking at flight prices for the past few weeks and the cost of the return flight is currently approx £70/£75 per person (prices fluctuate all of the time with the budget airlines). I will be looking to book the flights asap to secure the best deal for us. I plan to book the flights around the 1st February.

The hotel is £28.50 per person, per night (based on two people sharing a room), so the total cost for the hotel is £85.50. The hotel requires a deposit of one night’s payment (£28.50) when booking. The final payment for the hotel will need to be made a couple of weeks before we go. The total cost for flights and accommodation will therefore be approx £160

I will pay for the flights & hotel deposit but will need payment for these by the end of February. As soon as the flights are booked I will let you know the exact cost.

In Jersey we will need to either hire a mini bus or arrange coach transport to get us to / from the airport & hotel and to games. This will be arranged at a later date but the cost of this from previous experience is minimal.

Please note once flights are booked they must be paid for, all deposits are non returnable.

Those who wish to tour need to  e-mail me confirmation that you want to tour as well as the details I require before 1st February. Hopefully we can get enough interest to make this a success and it is the first of many club tours.

Any one with any questions or queries please contact me on 07867 508053 or (I am away from 19 – 27 January but will respond to any queries on my return)

    Details required

This is confirmation that I wish to tour & that I agree to pay for flights & accommodation booked for me as & when required.
