Welcome to Moreton in Marsh Bowling Club

We are an outdoor lawn bowls club based in Moreton in Marsh, Gloucestershire, England. We play friendly matches Ladies, Gents and Mixed matches against other clubs in our area. These matches are played at weekends and during the week. We also have a mostly internal Wednesday afternoon league. Some of our members also enter Inter-club and County competitions.

We are actively looking for new members at all levels of ability and welcome beginners to the sport. We have qualified coaches and annually run an open day for anyone to come and try lawn bowls as well as having our club nights on Monday evenings from 6.30pm.

End of Season Report

We completed a highly successful 2009 season under Chairman Barry Peaston and club captain Rod Dix. The club finals were played over 2 days with the winners of the club competitions being as follows:

Ladies Singles : Tilly Pearson

Ladies handicap : Rita Gerry

Ladies 2-wood : Tilly Pearson

Men's Singles : David Stanfield

Men's handicap : Charles Chapman

Men's 2-wood : Barry Peaston

Men's pairs : Don Boyes & Alan Pearson

Mixed Pairs : John Meadows & Rita Gerry

Club triples : Vic Lamb, Margaret Deakins & Alan Pearson

Freddie Wheeler cup : Roger Formby

We also had a great season in the knock out 2 rink tournament held by the Chadlington club for the South Africa Cup getting through to the final where we won on both rinks to secure the trophy for the first time in 10 years.
