Welcome to the official website for Middleton Cheney XI Cricket Club. What started off as a way of getting the lads together on a Saturday afternoon last season to try and win a game has resulted in automatic promotion to Northants Div4.

Can Skipper Merry lead his boys to Div 4 glory or will they crumble knowing that this year relegation is a possibility. You can be sure to find out hear first.

This website is here to provide players, management and supporters with up to date information on the club however, is only here for a laugh so please do not take offence to anything put on here.

Whats gone on over the winter..........

So the winter has now passed and that means only one thing...... its Cheltenham soon!!!. Aside from the boys losing loads on the nags, its also time for the new cricket season.

It doesn't seem 6 months since Thommo got battered by the whole team whilst taking that all important 7th catch against Northampton to clinch promotion however, alot of things have been going on behind the scenes.

The most substantial happenings is the 1st team pulling out of there league and going back in to the Northants League Div 5 With the 'A' team being promoted last year from 5 into 4, it now offers Skippers Mezza, Bardge and the 'A' team from last year the chance to be the top boys in the village.

This works out alot beter as last year the 1st team was struggling to not only get a side but also to get to games due to the youth contingent of the team. Andy Mayo will now lead this team and use it to nurse the young of the village through in to mens cricket. Therefore, lets call it 'The Academy'.

Following various meetings throughout the winter, we have all decided the club should look more proffesional, therefore this year we are planning on having a lareg selection of club memrobelia including playing shirts, hats, training kit, jumpers, flares and for the kids the 'bendy barry'. This is a cuddly toy of our very own Barry Hook which kids can bend and pull to their hearts content (very similier to a 'stretch armstrong'). These items will be available to all players, club members and supporters and will put in to the new 'club shop' tab on the website.

With Middleton Cheney already being a great club to play for it has now become a great club to socialy be involved in and it is with this in mind a long awaited end of season tour has been arranged. In spetember the boys (and some ladies) are making there way over to Jersey to play the local farmers. Information on this will be added to the new 'Jersey Tour' tab on the website.

Last year the MCCCA website proved to be very popular with over 7500 hits, it also became a featured website on the 'Sportstation' website which is a great achievement for all involved at the club. This year we plan to make the website bigger and better so please email the webmaster if you have any ideas or suggestions on improving the site.

    Here's to a succesful season.
